The concept
This site will introduce you to musical tales illustrated by art work and photos. It will be available to you through videos on a free access basis. We have therefore placed the music in the centre of a fantasy tale so as to adapt the CD-book to multimedia.
From this site, you can watch the episodes on a streaming mode or get a free download of the videos, the text, the soundtrack, and the audio book.
We are happy to introduce you to HELENA and the Orchestra of the World of Mist, the first tale, representing this brand new concept.
How it works
Musical Tales provides you with a choice of several formats to reach the World of Mist:
Flash version: viewing directly on the site by our Tale Player.
Free download: you can download either:
- The videos of the episodes (DivX for PC and QuickTime for Mac)
- The text, by chapter (PDF)
- The soundtrack: the best musical moments (MP3)
- The CD-book (MP3)
Motivation for the project
Musical Tales arose from Stéphane MEER's desire to tell a story through music and to make it available to everyone. The images intervene only during the process of creation, thus offering total freedom of composition, and placing the music at the heart of the musical stories.
Opera was the association of music and drama,: a story told by singing, with the staging representing only the visual illustration. “Musical Tales” uses this same principle, adding Twenty First Century technology and modes of distribution to it.

A free access
We wanted everyone to have access to “Musical Tales” and to the fantastic universe of “Helena and the Orchestra of the World of Mist”. Without any constraints or limits a moment of evasion destination the imagination, a journey on a musical carpet to transport you in the heart of the story.
To obtain this objective, free access is naturally imperative.
Besides the downloadable versions you will find on our site :
- A gallery of drawings and photos containing the most beautiful images;
- A "making of", illustrating the conditions of production ;
- Detailed cards about the characters ;
- An international forum where you can exchange views on the current story and on your favourite topics.
